About Martina
Hello! I am Martina Dailey, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Owner, and Consultant here at Sunrise Counseling & Consulting, LLC. With a deep commitment to helping others, I embrace a compassionate and ethical approach to therapy. I am currently licensed in Alabama (LICSW) and Iowa (LISW).
My work integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Strengths-based, and Solution-Focused Therapy. For those interested, I also offer Christian Counseling as an optional approach. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. My goal is to help you uncover your strengths and develop strategies for positive change, fostering resilience and personal growth.
I am also the Founder & Executive Director of New Awakening Recovery Services, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Birmingham, Alabama. Incorporating New Awakening was a very pivotal moment in my career. It allowed me to expand my impact in the community and deepen my commitment to helping those in need.
I focus on empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential in all aspects of their lives. In my consulting services, I work closely with nonprofit founders, new business owners, ministry leaders, and students to cultivate their personal and professional development. By providing tailored guidance and support, I help individuals navigate challenges and unlock opportunities, building a strong foundation for success in their respective careers and endeavors.
More About Martina
My approach has been shaped by diverse experiences in providing therapy and support services in the social work field. I have worked in medical settings, mental health agencies, inpatient and outpatient drug treatment programs, and foster care. These roles have deepened my understanding of the complex challenges individuals face and reinforced my commitment to providing support.
There’s no one pathway to trauma recovery. I know and understand this. My own personal history with trauma and my therapy journey, along with extensive study in social work, equipped me with the tools, insight, and understanding needed to be an effective and transformative clinician. I work with clients navigating a variety of mental health challenges, including trauma, addiction, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, I am passionate about community service and dedicate my time volunteering to assist individuals experiencing homelessness, trauma, substance abuse, domestic violence, and other related challenges.
